Standard Bank Inside Edge: New cricket magazine programme on SuperSport

14 September 2006

Standard Bank Inside Edge, the new cricket magazine programme on SuperSport, will be broadcast for the first time on Tuesday, September 19, at 21.30 on CSN and SuperSport 2.

Standard Bank Inside Edge is a live and in–studio panel discussion programme, facilitated by anchor presenter Mike Haysman, on current cricket issues and relevant topics, and will be aired weekly.

Haysman will be joined by Darryl Cullinan and Mpumelelo "Pommy" Mbangwa in a very relaxed studio set. Suitable and qualified guests will be invited to join the panel each week for their opinion and comment on the discussion topics.

The programme will be inter–active with a phone–in opportunity for viewers. It will also include action and game inserts, as well as competitions, including a viewers' question where answers can be submitted by SMS.

A regular insert called "The numbers game", where the careers of selected players will be profiled along with an explanation of the origins of the numbers on their one–day shirts.

We wanted to produce with our partners Supersport a quality and in–depth cricket programme. We've been involved in limited overs cricket for over ten years, and as a result worked with Superpsort on numerous projects. Based on our collective experience, and always striving to keep our cricket sponsorship innovative we looked to revamp our existing cricket programming on the channel.

"We believe Standard Bank Inside Edge will bring fresh insights to fans and supporters, deliver different perspectives and introduce the cricket loving public to new names, new faces and new opinions," says Marius Vorster, Director Group Sponsorships Standard Bank.

Standard Bank Inside Edge replaces the previous SuperSport cricket magazine programme Extra Cover.

Standard Bank will continue to sponsor the Afrikaans cricket magazine and discussion show, BVP, on Kyknet on Wedenesday's at 18:30.
