Welcome to South Africa!
Whether you are here on business or on holiday, you will need to exchange some money. Standard Bank has a range of foreign exchange products and services to assist you.
We have 174 outlets around the country, which can help you with your foreign exchange needs from cashing travellers cheques, exchanging foreign notes to sending or receiving electronic transfers, bank drafts and person-to-person transfers, if you run out of funds or you would like to send money back home.
The unit of currency is the rand, which is divided into 100 cents. You can exchange most of the major currencies at our outlets
When doing these transactions you will need to present your passport as a form of identification.
You can also draw cash from any Standard Bank AutoBank (ATM) around the country using your debit or credit card. You can use a MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diners, Visa-Electron or Maestro card at our AutoBank machines.
