Too good to be true? Not with cellphone banking. It allows you to transact on your accounts anywhere, anytime on your cellphone.

It's convenient

  • Know how much money you have (balance enquiry)
  • Find out what's happening on your account (mini-statement)
  • Move money between accounts (inter-account transfers)
  • Make payments (beneficiary payments)
  • Buy airtime for Vodacom, MTN, Cell C or Virgin Mobile (prepaid airtime)

It's cost effective
You will get the following transactions free with cellphone banking

  • No monthly subsciption
  • Free balance enquiries,
  • Free mini-statements and
  • Free prepaid transactions.

You will only pay normal electronic banking fees for the following

  • Inter-account transfers
  • Beneficiary payments
  • Network charges apply: your service provider will charge you for the amount of information sent to and from your cellphone(GPRS costs). These charges are very low, for example, making a payment to a beneficiary may cost you only four cents

It's safe
Your cellphone banking sessions are secured by the same 128-bit encryption used for Internet banking. You also log on using your card number and a Customer Selected PIN (CSP) that you will have selected. As long as you keep these numbers to yourself, no one else will be able to access your bank accounts. What's more no banking details are stored on your cellphone so if you lose it or it's stolen, your banking details won't go with it.

Its easy
There are two options that we offer for Cellphone banking:

WAP banking: It is banking on the mobile Internet. However you will need a WAP 2.0 enabled cellphone.

The new Cellphone banking: This service allows you to access Cellphone banking through a dial-up session. (You may use any cellphone for this option)
