Protecting women and children
Standard Bank supports the campaign South Africa United in Fighting Violence Against Women and Children.
The objective of the campaign, which runs for 16 days to 10 December 2002, is to increase awareness around the plight of women and children confronted by violence and to raise funds for organisations that provide social or welfare support in the criminal/justice, social development and health sectors.
Standard Bank has also made a donation to the campaign on behalf of all of our staff. This is in addition to about R750 000 that the Standard Bank Foundation has already donated in 2002 to 33
organisations providing support to vulnerable woman and children.
