Personal and Business Banking and Corporate and Investment Banking Audit

The mission of the Group Internal Audit function is to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services that are designed to add value and improve Group operations. Group Internal Audit assists the Group in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to the evaluation and improvement of the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.

Fraud and Forensics

This department is responsible for independently investigation all significant fraudulent activities and to advise management as to disciplinary action to be considered against staff members who have committed acts of fraud or dishonesty, to highlight control, system or process deficiencies and, where considered appropriate, to help recover losses through criminal civil action.

Operational Risk

Operational risk looks at losses suffered as a result of inadequacy of, or a failure in, internal processes, people, systems or from external events. This includes information risk and legal risk, but excludes reputational risk and strategic risk.

Group Compliance

Facilitates the optimisation of the Group's business by supporting management and staff in mitigating compliance risks without unreasonably impacting returns, while assisting management and staff to conduct business in compliance with relevant statutory, supervisory and regulatory requirements.
