Mogale's Gate

We own the 3 060-hectare (ha) farm, Mogale’s Gate, about 20 kilometres northwest of Mogale City in western Gauteng. During 2004, about 1 500 children from various schools and disadvantaged communities, as well as mentally challenged and hearing-impaired children, were entertained and educated on the farm. Their day begins with a game drive, followed by a presentation and discussion about conservation and ends with a bush walk along the river. The farm was also used for teambuilding, workshops, conferences and client meetings. About 2 500 members of staff and clients were hosted at the farm during 2004.

In September 2001, we donated 100 ha of Mogale’s Gate to the Cradle of Humankind for the building of the site’s main interpretation centre. The project should be completed in September 2005.
