Brand strategy
Standard Bank’s branding represents more than just
a logo, it is our commitment to our customers and
the base on which we build relationships.
In March 2004, we consolidated a number of our
brands, that had become recognisable household
names, under a single Standard Bank brand. Research
showed that the Standard Bank brand is a respected
and recognised brand in South Africa and internationally.
Our research also confirmed that our customers,
whether individual or corporate, associated readily
with the Standard Bank name, identity and the
brand’s intrinsic characteristics.
Compliance with industry standards
We maintain strict compliance mechanisms to ensure
applicable regulations, standards and voluntary
codes are upheld through our advertising, marketing
and brand application. Some of these regulations,
standards and voluntary codes include the Advertising
Standards Authority (ASA), the Lotteries Act and
the Direct Marketing Association.
