and we continue to innovate additional security
measures, both in-house and in partnership with
the wider banking fraternity, to protect the interests
of our customers and the bank.
The rapid development of Internet-based services
in South Africa, including the swift rise of electronic
banking services through the Internet, has raised
concerns about possible electronic fraud.
As part of our commitment to providing our customers
a safe online banking environment, we have renegotiated
our deal with Network Associates, the owners of
McAfee, which enables us to offer our Internet
banking customers free McAfee anti-virus and firewall
software for another year.
