Free float
Standard Bank Group’s free float is regarded
as the highest in its banking peer group. With more
than 70 000 shareholders, Standard Bank Group
is one of South Africa’s most widely held
public companies.
Foreign shareholding
The percentage of our share capital held by foreign
investors (outside South Africa) was 20,9% at the
end of 2004, compared with 18,2% at the end of 2003.
We believe that maintaining a reasonable component
of foreign shareholders in our shareholder base
is an important function of investor relations.
