Debi Check Product Detail

Now being phased in by SA banks, the DebiCheck system will soon apply to all debit orders, which means we'll ask you to approve any new debit order before we can process it.

How to approve it
You can approve a DebiCheck mandate through the channel you prefer:
  • In the banking app
  • On your phone (dial *120*2345#)*
  • By calling us on 0860 123 000
  • At the till (use your card and PIN on the retailer’s device)
  • At any of our ATMs with a DebiCheck logo (you’ll get a slip with all the DebiCheck details on approval)
  • At your nearest branch
*You must be registered for cellphone banking
What you approve
Before authorising a DebiCheck mandate, we’ll send you an SMS to verify the following details:
  • Who is debiting your account
  • When you will be debited
  • How much you’ll be debited
How it works
To receive the SMS notifications, we need your latest cellphone number on our system.
  • We send you an SMS request to approve a new DebiCheck mandate
  • If correct, you confirm the debit order details supplied
  • Only if you accept will we process the debit order
  • If you reject the debit order, it won’t go through
  • If your details don’t match the debit order, we won’t process it
