The Promotion of Access to Information
Act, 2 of 2000 (PAIA)

The Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 (PAIA) is a law that enforces the constitutional right to access any information that’s held by a private or public organisation, which is required for the exercise or protection of any rights. Standard Bank is bound by PAIA and will respond to any request made regarding this information.

If you would like access to information that belongs to another customer / supplier of Standard Bank, you will need to follow the below process.

HOW to Request Information

  • Complete the form
  • Email or call us for our banking details
  • Deposit a request fee of R 50 and email / fax us proof of payment
  • Requested information will be sent to you

After the Request is Submitted

The group privacy officer will:

  • Review the request form
  • Confirm payment of request fee
  • Process the request
  • Notify third parties where applicable
  • Assess and make a decision of the request
  • Let you know of the decision made
  • Notify you of any further fees. This is dependent on the information requested

All requests will be processed within 30 days of receipt unless an extension is required. The group privacy officer will let you know writing of any extensions.
