Virtual Credit Card: Frequently asked questions
A Virtual Credit Card (VCC) is an add-on Mastercard Credit Card issued on your primary credit card or Real Card Number (RCN). There is no physical card issued for a VCC.
Since no physical card is issued, the card details such as the card number, expiry date and card verification value (CVV) can be viewed on your Banking App.
The card details can be used online for e-commerce transactions and for MOTO (Mail Order and Telephonic Order) transactions.
No. Your Virtual Credit Card is funded by your Real Card Number.
The Virtual Credit Card is a digital alternative to using your Real Card Number for online purchases. It reduces the risk of fraud on your account and allows you to control the spend on the card.

- Transaction Limit control – Allows you to set the maximum amount on an individual transaction
- Validity Period control – You can set the time period in which transactions can take place
- Velocity control – Gives you the ability to limit the frequency and total cumulative number of transactions (card limit) on your VCC within a specified time period
- Merchant Category control (MCC) – Choose to use your VCC online at retail stores, airlines, hotels and for car rental
