Cancelling your current bond

You need to notify your current provider about your intention to cancel your bond with them in order to register your bond with Standard Bank.

Get a home loan

When you move your home loan account, we will open a new account for you. You can apply for a new loan online, speak your banker at Standard Bank or visit any of our branches near you.

Get the required paperwork

Use our document checklist to make sure you have all required documents when applying for a new loan.

How to qualify

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • Your earn a single or joint gross monthly salary of R 3 500 or more
  • You have a transactional account where your salary is deposited

Repay the loan over a period of up to 20 years

Option to include Credit Life Insurance in event of death, critical illness, disability or retrenchment

Option to include Home Owner's Insurance

Register a bond greater than the loan amount you need. You can access the extra funds later by applying for a further loan.

Note that you will need to cancel your bond with your current financial institution when you switch
