Protect your phone from fraud
It’s important to consider the amount of sensitive information we keep on our cellphones. From home addresses to contact lists; from app passwords to payment details – our phones contain a huge amount of information.

Fraudsters can use the information on your phone to impersonate you and defraud your contacts through phishing or vishing. They could get easy access to your passwords, banking apps and make illegal transactions and purchases. They will know your home address and thus have access to your premises when you are not around.

If your phone is lost or stolen, follow these steps to protect your information:

  • Contact your mobile provider immediately and request them to block your SIM
  • Contact your Bank(s) to deactivate ALL your mobile banking platforms
  • Remotely ERASE all your data from your phone using your device’s ‘Find My Phone’ site
  • Change ALL your social media and email passwords.
You may also wish to deselect the ‘AutoSave’ option in your phone’s password vault.

For more information or support in this regard, please contact WIonCall on 0861 001 052 or +27 11 299 4531 (International) or speak to your Relationship Manager.
