They will be allocated 18 hours to develop their solutions will be judged upon completion of the presenting their proof of concept to the judging panel.
This is the first ever iteration of this type of event and forms part of the bank’s regular focus on diversified recruitment, skills development and innovation.
“At Standard Bank, we value the importance of learning and development, and we are excited to be hosting this event with specific focus on young graduates who are looking to enter the burgeoning innovation sector,” says Jorg Fischer, Standard Bank Group Chief Information Officer.
Approximately 50 students have been invited to the event and they are drawn from a diverse list of graduates from South African universities and centers of learning in the Western Cape area.
The top three teams will receive prizes on the day based on the outcome of the judging and the nature of the solutions they develop.
“We believe that through UniHack, the selected students will have an opportunity to put their innovative skills into action, engage with executives in the sector and provide a sample of what working life entails,” concludes Mr Fischer.
We encourage the students to collaborate, innovate and disrupt!
