SORTED App: Frequently asked questions

What is the call centre number for SORTED?
The SORTED call centre number is 011 700 500. The call centre’s working hours are 8AM to 7PM on weekdays and 8AM to 3PM on weekends.
How do I get a SORTED wallet?
You can register for a wallet by downloading and registering for the SORTED App.
Is there any fee required to register on SORTED?
No. Signing up on the SORTED App is free.
Can I manage my dependant’s wallet on the SORTED App?
Yes. To manage your dependant’s wallet, click on “MiMoney”, enter your Customer Selected PIN (CSP) and select dependant wallet.
How many SORTED wallets can a person own?
An individual can only own one wallet with multiple pockets, however, a guardian can manage more than one wallet (their own wallet and their dependent’s wallet).
Do I need to go to a branch to sign up for SORTED?
No, you don’t. The registration process is done digitally and activation is almost instant.
Is the SORTED App available on both Android and iOS?
Yes, the SORTED App is available on both Android and iPhone platforms.
How do I change my Customer Selected PIN (CSP)?
To change your CSP, you need to sign in to MiMoney, select “manage profile”, then follow the “change CSP” tab; or before signing in to MiMoney, you can follow the “forgot CSP” tab.
How do I fund my SORTED wallet?

You can fund your wallet or your dependent’s wallet by using Masterpass or an Instant Money voucher. Sign in to MiMoney, select “fund” and a funding method, and follow the prompts of the funding method.

Please note that “fund wallet via Instant Money voucher” will require a voucher number and PIN.

What is a SORTED wallet?
A SORTED wallet is a digital store of monetary value, which you can access from the app or through SORTED cards linked to the app.
What is Masterpass?
Masterpass is a secure transaction environment provided for real-time funding of the wallet.
How do I use Masterpass?
Access Masterpass through the app once signed in to MiMoney. First-time users will need to enter their card details and be securely validated. Once done, the transaction will require an ATM PIN to authenticate the fund wallet transaction.
Can I load any bank card on Masterpass?
You can load any South African bank card that can perform Card Not Present (CNP) transactions / online transactions.
Can I transfer money from my SORTED wallet to another wallet?
Yes, you can transfer money by entering the cellphone number of another wallet user.
How do I transfer money?
On the “send money” option, select the “send money method between wallet to wallet”, or “wallet to Instant Money voucher”, enter an amount and cellphone number and transfer real-time to another wallet.
What cards can I add on MiMoney? 
  Standard Bank SORTED cards or Instant Money card (these cards will be linked to the wallet). Other South African bank cards (VISA and Mastercard) can be added to fund wallet.
Can I add more than one card to the same wallet?
Yes, you can add more than one SORTED card or Instant Money card to one wallet.
How do I change my card PIN?
Sign in to MiMoney, select the “manage cards” option, and select the card you would like to do a PIN change to. You will be requested to enter the old PIN and a new PIN. An OTP will be sent to the registered cellphone number to ensure the person changing the PIN is the owner of the card.
Does my card PIN have to be the same as my CSP?
No, the CSP and the card PIN are separate.
What does “Stop Card” mean?
Stop Card suspends the card’s activity. Once a card has been stopped, the card will not be able to do any transactions. However, this is only temporary until “Start Card” is used.
What does “Start Card” mean?
Start Card unsuspends a temporarily stopped card. Start Card will not be able to unblock a blocked card.
Is “Block Card” a permanent block of my card?
Block Card permanently blocks the card’s activity. Once the card is blocked, it will not be unblocked. You will need a new card to continue transacting.
What happens when I forget my card PIN?
Sign in to MiMoney, select “manage cards”, choose the card to which you forgot the PIN, and follow the forgot PIN prompts. You will be required to have your ID number / passport number and cellphone number with you.
What is a dependent?
A dependent is the child of a parent.
Can I view my dependent’s wallet?    
Yes, once you’re signed in to MiMoney, select “dependent” to view the balances and transactions of the dependent.
Can I view my dependent’s spend?
Yes, once you’re signed in to MiMoney, select “dependent” to view their balances and transactions.
How do I top up a dependent’s wallet?
Sign in to MiMoney, select the “fund option”, and choose the dependent’s wallet to fund or transfer money from your wallet to their wallet.
Is there a limit to how much I can top up?
Top up using Masterpass will only allow a transaction up to R1 000 at a time.
What is Swapshop?
Swapshop is a marketplace feature that allows individuals to trade secondhand goods. Individuals can sell or buy goods in their community.
Who can post on Swapshop?
Anyone with access to Swapshop can post. 
How do I create a post on SwapShop?
Go into Swapshop, select “my post” and follow the create post prompts.
Who approves my post?
The posts are approved by the institution your profile is linked to.
Who posts events?
Only institutions or Standard Bank business partners have access to post events.
Can I pay for events from my wallet?
Yes. “Pay event” will prompt you to enter your wallet to process payment for the specific event you want to pay for.
Can I pay for events from my bank account?
No, all event payments are done through the wallet.
What is chat and who can I chat with?
 Chat is an instant messaging platform that allows you to connect with family and friends who are in your contact list and have the SORTED App.
Can I send pictures, voice notes and videos on chat?
   Yes, the chat platform allows for media sharing.
How do I see if someone is online?
 On the chat section, select “contacts” to see who is online as it will show a green symbol next to their name. If they are offline, it will show a red symbol next to their name.
