Value-added services


Dispense cash to your customers directly via an AutoLink card machine or integrated payment solution, and reduce your risk and cash handling expenses. This service is available for selected South African-issued debit and credit cardholders.

Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards compliance

The Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) publishes a framework for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) which are created by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JBC. These security standards are mandatory in South Africa for all merchants processing card payments.

PCI DSS compliance can be achieved by completing a self-assessment questionnaire (SAQ) and ensuring all the requirements are met, or by consulting a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) and attaining an attestation of compliance, the latter of which is required for merchants processing more that 1 million transactions of either Visa or MasterCard branded cards annually.

Compliance to PCI DSS significantly reduces the risk of fraud or data compromise and the associated penalties or fines that could be levied.

Standard Bank actively seeks to provide solutions which de-scope its merchants as far as possible and, based on merchant request on a case by case basis, will provide all the necessary advice and assistance to ensure the required compliance is met .
