Handy tips to make spending more rewarding

4 Easy ways to collect UCount Rewards Points

With Standard Bank’s UCount Rewards, you get something back every time you spend. Here’s some handy tips to help you collect a little more.

Once you’re a UCount Rewards* member, you can collect Rewards Points for simply using your Standard Bank debit, cheque or credit card to buy anything from groceries and household goods to fuel and airline tickets.

But what you  really need to know is how to collect even more Rewards Points. Here are four ways to do just that:

1. Collect extra points shopping at Rewards Retailers

While you can collect Rewards Points on all transactions no matter where you shop or what you buy, online and in store, you’ll also collect Rewards Points at Caltex forecourts or Rewards Retailers like Clicks. (See the full list of Rewards Retailers.)

2. Earn extra, extra Rewards

Using your credit card will collect you even more Reward Points, over and above any other card.

3. Collect Social Rewards

Link your Twitter account to UCount Rewards, and collect additional Social Rewards for using the #UCount hashtag when tweeting about the cool stuff you get with your Rewards points.

4. Move to higher Tiers

Collect even more Rewards Points for every Rewards Tier you climb: the higher you sit on the Rewards Tier ladder, the more Rewards Points you’ll collect on your transactions (there are five Tiers in total).

You can collect tiering points through the banking products you use (home loans, vehicle finance and your transactional account) as well as your banking behaviours (online banking, switching to e-statements and updating your personal info).

How to check your balance

Check your UCount Rewards balance on the Standard Bank app or by SMSing ‘Balance’ to 45224. Remember, 10 Rewards Points equals R1.

*R22.19 per month. T&Cs apply.
