How to set up our Facebook Messenger service

  • Follow us on Facebook @StandardBankInstantMessaging
  • Start a conversation, (by saying ‘Hi’, for example)
  • A secure USSD session will open, prompting you to answer questions so we can verify that it’s you we’re talking to
  • You’ll be redirected to your chosen instant messaging platform
  • Read and accept the T&Cs
  • You’re now ready to start chatting with your banker

  • Log in to WeChat
  • In contacts, select ‘official accounts’
  • Select ‘add an account’
  • Type in Standard Bank and select search
  • Select Standard Bank Instant Messaging
  • Start a conversation, (by saying ‘Hi’, for example)
  • A secure USSD session will open, prompting you to answer questions so we can verify that it’s you we’re talking to
  • You’ll be redirected to your chosen instant messaging platform
  • Read and accept the T&Cs
  • You’re now ready to start chatting with your banker
