Send an International payment

Learn how to send and manage outgoing international payments.
Step 1 of 22

Go to your home screen and tap Transact (on the bottom navigation).

Tap the Overseas payment option.

On the International payments screen, tap the Outgoing international payment option (to send money outside South Africa).​

For an outgoing international payment, you can choose to Pay a person, Pay a company, or Fund your International account.

Tap the Pay a Person option.

Review the important information you need to be aware of before sending an international payment.

When you’re ready, tap CONTINUE.

Choose the account from which you want to pay from.

Choose the destination country or country of beneficiary bank.

For payments to Common Monetary Area countries, you can select Eswatini, Lesotho or Namibia.

Choose the currency you would like to send and then enter the payment amount.

Choose who will cover the beneficiary bank fees: either you pay the fees, or the beneficiary pays them.​

Tap on your preferred option to continue.

View the full payment cost breakdown.

Tap CONTINUE to proceed.

Capture the beneficiary's personal details.

Capture the beneficiary banking details.​

Tap DONE.

Capture your references.​

Review the Balance of Payments (BoP) declaration.​

Then tap on the Select your reason for payment (BoP) prompt.

Scroll down and select your reason for payment from the dropdown options.​

You may need to add additional details for the selected payment reason.

Tap CONTINUE.

Enter the One-time PIN (OTP) we’ll send to you.

Tap CONTINUE.

You’ll have 30 seconds to accept the exchange rate. If 30 seconds expire, the screen refreshes and you’ll get a new rate.

Review your payment details, then tap CONFIRM.​

Use the back button (on the top navigation) to go back and amend your payment.

All done! Your payment has been submitted for processing.​

Back on the Outgoing Payments landing screen, keep an eye on your payment status – it will update as your payment is processed.
