- Tap on Add-ons in the top left corner

How do I qualify for the travel discount?
You must:
- be a Standard Bank client with a transactional account that is in good standing
- have a qualifying Credit Card (including Virtual Credit Card)
- book and pay for flights on Standard Bank Travel
- meet our spending requirements using your qualifying Credit Card, and
- be a member of the Standard Bank UCount Rewards programme and achieve Tier Level 3 status
How much must I spend to qualify for the travel discount?
- Refer to the table below for the qualifying Credit Card types and the minimum monthly spend amount applicable to your card.
- You must spend the monthly minimum amount in the month prior to the date on which you make the booking to qualify for the discount. For example, if you’re making a booking on 20 October, you must have met the minimum spend requirement for September (1st to 30th September) in order to qualify for the discount.

What happens if I have more than one qualifying card?
We will use your highest qualifying Standard Bank Credit Card to determine if you qualify.
For example, if you hold a Gold Credit Card and a World Citizen Credit Card, you must meet the World Citizen Credit Card monthly spend criteria (i.e. R30 000) to qualify for the travel discounts.

Which transactions are excluded from my spend calculation?
- All transactions for gambling, toll fees, cash advances, electronic funds transfers (EFTs), inter-account transfers and payments, cash withdrawals, foreign exchange purchases, issuing of cheques, stop and debit orders, and garage card transactions.
- Any purchases made online, or in-store using your Standard Bank Debit/Cheque/Evolve or Debit/Prepaid Virtual Cards.
What travel discount do I qualify for?
It depends on your qualifying Credit Card type and UCount Rewards Tier Level as listed below. The travel discount is applied to the base fare of your domestic or international flight purchase only.
For example, if you’re on UCount Rewards Tier Level 3 and you pay for your flight booking using your Titanium Credit Card, you will receive a 10% discount off your flight booking. This maximum discount available to you is R4 000 per calendar year.

What is the maximum travel discount available to me annually?
- The maximum annual travel discount for a calendar year (1 January to 31 December) is determined by your Credit Card type and your UCount Rewards Tier Level
- Once your annual travel discount limit is reached, no further discount will be applied
- See below for the maximum annual travel discount you may receive.

How is the travel discount applied?
The travel discount is applied only to flight tickets purchased with your qualifying card type on Standard Bank Travel on the Banking App. The travel discount is applied to the base fare and does not apply to airport taxes.
How do I view my travel discount before booking?
The discounts available to you can be seen on Standard Bank Travel on the Banking App.
If I don’t use my annual maximum travel discount, will it be carried over to the next calendar year?
Unfortunately not. In the next calendar year, a new maximum annual discount will be allocated to you based on your qualifying Credit Card type and UCount Rewards Tier Level at that time.
What if I upgrade or downgrade my account?
If you upgrade or downgrade your account, the maximum annual travel discount and travel discount rate will be adjusted based on your newest card type (less any discount that has already been used during the calendar year).
For example:
a) You have a Gold Credit Card which gives you an annual maximum discount of R1 000. You use R1 000 and subsequently upgrade to a Titanium Credit Card (i.e. an annual discount allocation of R4 000). You will have a balance of R3 000 available to use (if you meet the minimum spend criteria for Titanium).
b) You have a Platinum Credit Card which gives you an annual maximum discount of R10 000. You use R3 000 before downgrading to a Titanium Credit Card (i.e. an annual discount allocation of R4 000). You will have a balance of R1 000 available (if you meet the minimum spend criteria for a Titanium Credit Card).
For example:
a) You have a Gold Credit Card which gives you an annual maximum discount of R1 000. You use R1 000 and subsequently upgrade to a Titanium Credit Card (i.e. an annual discount allocation of R4 000). What if I have a spousal account?
Your spouse/partner must meet the requirements set out above to receive a travel discount rate and maximum annual discount.
What if I have a secondary Credit Card?
The maximum annual discount for the primary Credit Card will be applied to the secondary Credit Card (i.e., the secondary cardholder doesn’t have a separate maximum annual discount allocated to their card).
Can I book flights for someone else?
You may book flights for other people if you, as the primary cardholder, are travelling with them. You may book flights for a maximum of 9 people, including the cardholder.
Do my friends and family or other travellers receive a discount?
The discount will apply to the flight bookings for your travellers if you, as the primary cardholder, are making the booking and are travelling with them.
Can I book flights for travellers who are under the age of 18 to fly alone?
No, there must be at least one adult accompanying the traveller who is under 18 years old.
How do I pay for my booking?
You may pay using your Credit/Evolve/Cheque/Virtual Credit Card, however, to qualify for the travel discount, you must pay with your qualifying Standard Bank Credit Card.
Do I receive travel insurance when booking my flight on Standard Bank Travel?
Yes. You and your travellers, if applicable, will receive complimentary basic or comprehensive travel insurance when you book your flights using your Standard Bank Credit and/or Evolve Card, and/or Virtual Credit Card. The travel insurance is based on your card type.

How do I select a seat for my flights?
You may select your seat when you make your booking if the airline you choose makes the selection available. You may have to pay an additional fee if it’s available.
Which flights do I get travel discounts on?
The discounts are available on domestic and international flights booked on Standard Bank Travel.
Can I use any airline-linked loyalty rewards to make bookings on Standard Bank Travel?
No, you’re not able to redeem your airline loyalty rewards on Standard Bank Travel.
Can I earn any airline loyalty rewards when I book my flights through Standard Bank Travel?
Yes, you can. Enter your loyalty rewards program details such as your frequent flyer number when you make a booking.
Do I earn UCount Rewards Points on bookings made on Standard Bank Travel?
Yes, you can earn UCount Rewards Points using your qualifying transactional card as per the UCount Rewards programme rules. However, you can’t pay for flights using your UCount Rewards Points.
Can I still book on the UCount Rewards Travel Mall?
Yes you can. However, Standard Bank Travel will replace the UCount Rewards Travel Mall in early 2026.
How do I access my booking history and manage my bookings?
- Sign into your Banking App
- Navigate to the Standard Bank Travel add-on tile
- Go to “Manage your bookings”
- Tap on “My bookings”
Can I make changes to my booking?
Some airlines don’t allow any changes, even at an additional cost e.g. changes to names of passengers are not allowed. If the airline doesn’t allow the change you require, you will have to cancel the booking and request a refund.
Airline penalty fees may apply to changes that are allowed as per the airline’s rules. If your booking is cheaper after making the change, you will not receive a refund of the price difference, and you may still have to pay a penalty fee.

How do I request changes to my bookings?

If I can no longer travel, how do I cancel my flight and request a refund?
Refunds are subject to the airline’s rules and policies. If a refund is allowed, the airline will process the refund after deducting any penalties due to the service providers to the account that was used to pay for the booking. This may take 6–8 weeks depending on the airline. Not all tickets are refundable.

If I cancel my flight, can I use that discount for another booking?
No. If you cancel a booking, the discount applied cannot be transferred to another booking and cannot be added back to your maximum annual travel discount.

How will I receive my booking confirmation and travel information?
- Booking confirmations are sent via email immediately after a successful booking is made
- Your eTicket will also be accessible in the Banking App under Manage > My Trips
- If you wish, we can send your e-ticket via WhatsApp at an additional fee of R29 per booking. You may opt-out of this service by de-selecting this option during the booking process
Are there additional fees for booking on Standard Bank Travel?
A booking admin fee is applicable which will be displayed before you pay.
